In-Home and Remote
I teach in-home lessons in Belmont, Arlington and Lexington, Massachusetts and offer remote lessons by Zoom.
Teaching Style
I establish a foundation with a student first, to know how to break a piece down to learn it effectively. I teach reading skills, listening skills, and technique. As a student builds their skills, I then start to customize based on the types of music a student is interested in.
Age Range
I teach adults, teens, and children from age 5 and up.
About Me
Music has always been a significant and integral part of my life. I started playing the piano when I was about 5 years old, and have played and sung in many ensembles ever since. I received a Bachelor of Music Performance (emphasis on the piano) from the University of Southern Maine. While in college, I started tutoring subjects like music theory and ear training, and I have been teaching private piano lessons in the Boston area for the last 13 years.
While my training is in classical piano, my interests range from jazz to musical theater to contemporary. I enjoy composing in my free time, and volunteering in church as an organist and music director.
